RIO HONDO COLLEGE FOUNDATION

Farmers Agent Jeffrey Pellissier's family settled in the Whittier area in 1888 where his great-grandparents, Frank & Marie, started Pellissier Dairy Farms. In 1972, following the sale of the dairy to Rio Hondo College, Larry & Florine Pellissier started a scholarship to reward the Valedictorian of the graduating class.

As the great grandson of the founder of Pellissier Dairy Farms, Jeffrey has personally raised over $25,000 to supplement the scholarship to ensure it continues as an endowment fund. The scholarship now awards $2,000 per year to the College's Valedictorian.

The Pellissier Family Scholarship continues to be the highest family scholarship at Rio Hondo College. Jeffrey proudly represents the heritage of his family by attending annual recognition ceremonies to present and give the award away.

In sponsoring the golf tournament, John commented, "This is my first year sponsoring this tournament and my 3rd year of playing in it. RBEF does a great job supporting all Redondo schools. I have one son that graduated last year and one in 8th grade and both have benefited from their good work and financial support so I was happy to support them."
